Academic Weapon Award

A lot of time in college will be spent dreading an upcoming exam.. Eyes burning, head pounding as you try to string together another sentence or equation. Sometimes you wonder what the point even is. Is college really for me? Will this extra thirty minutes really make a difference? Then you’ll spend another fifteen minutes at least wondering if you should go to bed and pick it up tomorrow. Eventually, you sleep for what feels like two seconds, and exam day is here. You’ll either get there with plenty of time to spare or just as the class starts, there’s no in between. You’ll wonder if you should've studied or how that page of notes you forgot to look at will definitely be on the exam. And then the test opens. Some of them look easy, others leave you stumped. Then you get three Answer Cs in a row and start to get nervous. Clearly you screwed up somewhere. Then you finally review answers, and more people start to leave. You’re paranoid that somehow the answer you clicked has changed. And you press submit, you’re worried that somehow all your answers got deleted. You don’t know how to feel except to say it’s over.

You’re results won’t be back for a day or two but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate yourself. Before tackling the next assignment or project, recognize your wins. You made it through another week, another exam, and another moment you thought would break you.

It’s time to treat yourself with something sweet and savory, which is how every win should taste.
